College Infrastructure

The Bombay College of Pharmacy is built on a piece of land generously donated by Mr. Apastakolos Raptakos of Raptakos Brett & Co. Ltd. in the heart of Mumbai City i.e. at Kalina, Santacruz. It comprises mainly of two buildings in the campus. The smaller one is actually the staff quarters. The management of Bombay College of Pharmacy aspires to build a multi-storey tower housing quarters, hostel, IPA office, seminar hall and an auditorium.

The main building of Bombay College of Pharmacy has two floors housing class rooms, seminar halls, canteen, laboratories, instrument room, machine room, administrative office, IPA and IPA-MSB office etc.

The main building is surrounded by greenery including medicinal plants. The main entrance faces a small garden dedicated for the flag hoisting ceremony. Passage in the entrance is one class room, a seminar hall and two laboratories. Walking through the corridors leads you to the college canteen which is provided with proper seating arrangement for almost 100 people. Canteen provides snacks and lunch. The canteen has a television, table tennis and carom board. A huge chess board has been built at the lounge.

At the ground floor there are common rooms and toilets for boys and girls. For hassle free movement for the handicap an entry with a ramp has been provided leading to the lift available to reach higher floors. On the ground floor is the, RIA lab, machine room and two more class rooms.

On the first floor there is the administrative office , chairman’s office, audit room, examination room, Principal’s office, ACE office, IPA office, two class rooms Pharma Analysis PG labs, Pharmacology PG labs, Pharmacognosy PG labs, UG Chemistry lab, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy labs, instrument room and a tutorial room. All the class rooms at BCP have been equipped with internet connection and LCD projectors.

The second floor can be divided in three sections. The first is reserved for the Library. The library itself is divided in four sections. 1) Referencing, 2) Reading 3) Computer room 4) Librarian’s cabin/admin. Details of library can be found at library page.

The second section of the second the floor is called Vasvik Research which houses wing research laboratories and Pharm Chem faculty.


Vividhlaxi Audyogik Samshodhan Vikas Kendra (VASVIK):

A Multipurpose industrial research promotion center was founded in 1983 inaugurated by Dr.S.D Sharma, Governor of Maharashtra, to provide space research laboratories. The VASVIK research wing comprises of

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Research Laboratory funded by Ministry of HRD Govt. Of India Here Prof. Nagarsenker’s Pharmaceutics Lab, Professors, HPC cluster room, molecular modelling lab, Pharmaceutics and Chemistry lab, Pharmacology lab, and a instrument room.

The third section of the second floor houses MKR labs.

College is continuously upgrading its infrastructure and equipment. In fact it’s the fundamental goal to provide students all the facilities to acquire skills necessary for a well-trained pharmacist.
